Hi all,

In the sixth episode of Genesis Block's Protocol Analysis series, we analyse Audius, a decentralised music streaming service that connects fans directly with artists.

Founded in early 2018 (with the mainnet going live in Oct 2020) by Roneil Rumburg and Forrest Browning, think of Audius as Soundcloud, but built on a blockchain. Artists on Audius can upload any and all audio they want, and users can stream, comment, like, and perform other actions you would expect on a music streaming platform.

In Audius’ case, the idea has definitely proven to be better than the execution. All aspects of Audius that we analysed were below-par - listen on to understand why.

Stay tuned for an in-depth breakdown of Audius and its foibles in our article that releases later this week!
